Total Body Transformation
Weight Loss Challenge
Day 3 -
June 15, 2009
Now that I've lost the
majority of my weight with HCG I've decided it's time to step it up and hit the
gym. I kick-started this new weight loss challenge by going on a liquid fast in
conjunction with a bodybuilding program designed to firm, tighten and define me.
I started the fast on June 13th, 2009 so this is officially Day 3 of the weight
loss challenge (remember we're 1 day ahead here in Australia). The liquid fast is only temporary and I am going to try to stick
to it for at least 30 days. After that I will go back to eating a raw food diet
and continue with my training program.
As I stated in my HCG Fat
Loss blog yesterday, I recently split up with Steve and gained 20lbs
(9kg) in a very short
period of time. My starting weight for this weight loss challenge is 176lbs
(80kg). My ultimate goal is to get down to around 121lbs (55kg), lower my body
fat percentage to between 10-15% and cut up (define) my body to the maximum
amount possible by December this year.
Height: 5' 7" (170cm)
Starting Weight: 176lbs (80kg)
Today's Weight: 173.8lbs (79kg)

Day 4 -
June 16, 2009
Today's Weight: 170.5lbs (77.5kg)
Total Weight Lost: 5.5lbs (2.5kg)
Today's weight loss was 3.3lbs which is not too bad. That puts me at a total
weight loss of 5.5lbs in only 3 days. I'm expecting my weight loss to slow down
or stabilize as time progresses and I build more muscle but this is normal
because muscle weighs more than fat. The main thing is watching the inches melt
away and seeing my clothes get looser and looser. I'm hoping that I can pull off
wearing a two-piece bikini this Summer.
Today's lower body workout kicked my ass and I'm really looking forward to being
disabled tomorrow. No pain, no gain right? Ahhh, we'll see about that. I've
noticed that I feel the most hungriest in the evening and to get rid of this I
either make another green smoothie or freshly squeezed juice. I've developed an
addiction to carrot, celery, and ginger juice the last few weeks and can easily
drink 40oz. or more! Carrot juice contains the richest source of Vitamin A and
also contains an ample supply of B, C, D, E, G, and K. Carrot juice is an
excellent cleanser and reduces the risks of many different types of cancer.
Celery contains sodium, iron, calcium, magnesium, Vitamins B1, B2, B6, C,
essential amino acids, and also has anti-cancer properties. The best part about
drinking celery juice is that it reduces your appetite so if you ever start
craving sugars and starches during the day juice some celery together with some
carrot or apple and drink a glass. Adding ginger to the mix adds yet another
anti-cancer benefit. Ginger is also known as a natural aphrodisiac and is a
healthy alternative to Viagra and, if you're a woman who suffers from monthly
painful cramps, the pain-relieving and anti-cramping compounds in ginger will
tremendously help with that T.O.M.
Day 8 - June 20, 2009
Today's Weight:
169.4lbs (77kg)
Total Weight Lost: 6.6lbs (3kg)
Today I weighed in at 169.4lbs (77kg) but woke up and got hit with both a
terrible cold and that T.O.M. simultaneously. I'm currently experiencing a sore
throat, runny nose and cramps to boot. Good stuff. I'm taking a day off the gym
today but will make up for it tomorrow morning by doing both a Body Pump class
and a 1 hour lower body workout. The cold thing sucks because I haven't been
sick in a long time and it's probably because of the freezing weather here in
Australia. I'm happy though that I'm now 6.6lbs (3kg) down so I will be taking
my second set of photos tomorrow. I don't know how much different I'll look than
last week considering I'm super-bloated thanks to that T.O.M. and feel like the
Michelin man but, nonetheless, the photo thing still has to be done tomorrow.
Day 10 - June 22, 2009
Today's Weight:
168.3lbs (76.5kg)
Total Weight Lost: 7.7lbs (3.5kg)

6/14/09 (left) - 6/22/09 (right)
It's only been 8 days between these photos and the biggest difference I'm
noticing here is that the rolls around my waist have become a little smaller.
Actually I was quite surprised about this and seriously thought that I wouldn't
be able to see much of a difference since last week. If you look at my left
thigh and hip and compare it to the right side, you will see where the plastic
surgeon screwed up and sculpted my body unsymmetrically.

6/14/09 (left) - 6/22/09 (right)
My gut looks like it's come down a bit here too. I wonder how long it's going to
be before I start seeing a six-pack, haha.

6/14/09 (left) - 6/22/09 (right)
Again, biggest change noticeable here is the smaller waist and I think my upper
back looks slightly thinner too.
My biggest challenge is going to be getting my legs to look decent and that's
why I'm pushing it extra hard at the gym when it's lower body workout day!
Day 16 -
June 28, 2009
I've been stuck on 169.3lbs for 7 days now but I took my body
measurements today and have lost 2.5cm. The last time I measured myself was on
June 18th so that's 2.5cm of fat lost in 10 days. I'm still waiting for my fat
calipers to come in so I can work out my body fat percentage and LBM (lean body
mass) which I'm expecting to be pretty shocking. I'm surprised that 2cm of the
fat came off my waist and 0.5cm off my chest but nothing else on my body budged.
Maybe I measured myself wrong? I don't know. Anyway, I'll be taking my photos
for this week later on tonight and will be posting them tomorrow.
Here's how to calculate your Lean Body Mass:
Body Fat in lbs. = (Total Bodyweight) x (Body Fat Percentage) (in decimal form)
Lean Body Mass = Total Bodyweight - Body Fat in lbs.
Example:
Someone who weighs 173 pounds with a body fat percentage of 17.5% would
calculate as follows:
(173) x (.175) = 30.3 lbs. of body fat
173 - 30.3 = 142.7 lbs. LBM
A body fat percentage calculator can
be found here.
